This is the second year Glamour have run this festival but the first time I have heard of it. My friend Clare told me about it and I enjoyed Beautycon so I was like why not! The festival was across the weekend of 11-12 March at the Saatchi Gallery in Sloane Square, London. There were two session across each day and we went for the afternoon on the Sunday. Tickets cost £45 and it included entry, a free talk and a goodie bag worth £190 which I will do another post on what was included!

We got in and went straight up to the second floor as our talk was within 20 minutes of arriving so we grabbed out goodie bags, signed up for magazine subscriptions (3 for £1 or an annual for £9) and visited the wellness section. In there were 3 food/drink stands and Garnier displaying their products and recommending ones based on our skin type

Such a nice fruity energy drink!

Tasty coconut bites!

Peanut Butter is life!

The talk was Alex Steinherr (Glamour Beauty Editor) who presented Hung Vanngo – Makeup Artist to celebs such as J.Lo, Selena Gomez, Gisele Bundchen & Chrissy Teigen to name a few. He spoke of how he got into the industry starting from being a hairdresser to realising makeup artistry was his calling going from being in Calagery, Alberta, Canada to Toronto to New York. Two models were on stage and he showed what shades he used and techniques. I love how Hung spoke about making his models radiant and glowing, not overdoing makeup but to bring out her best features. He only uses powder on T zones, trying to not make his clients look cakey but as fresh as possible. In this case, less is more!

We headed on downstairs to the hair zone which was pretty packed with GHD, OGX & Redken doing hair styling featuring their products. The ques were long but eventually got in with GHD. I decided just to go sleek straight since I’m naturally curly and the rain did mess up my hair -.- The hairdresser was great even giving me advice on my next hair cut to keep my hair healthy!

Doesn’t Clare look like Bernadette from Big Bang Theory?

We headed up to the skincare zone where I got a mask down by Pixi by Petra. Since I did not want my makeup off they offered to do it on my hands. Note, my hands have eczema on so this would be a real trial. The beautician was so so great with advice! I currently use a charcoal & clay mask and she was like omg no, its just drying up your face more since they detoxifying so use cream masks. ANYONE WITH DRY SKIN DO NOT USE CLAY OR CHARCOAL MASKS. Unfortunately for those with crappy dry eczema based skin we got to splurge out on  products as drugstore ones contains so many chemicals. The products really cleared up my skin and made it feel so nice and soft that I even got to purchase a 250ml tonic for £15…oh and its personalised

Heading upstairs to the makeup zone we got our lashes fitted by Eylure. I had the Eylure Luxe Bauble fitted and it just looked so beautiful! My problem is that I don’t cut my lashes down but I am not helping myself there!

Due to time things were closing up so we had to miss a lot of things including the nail zone where Elegant Touch were featured. I don’t know how to plait hair so headed back to the hair zone to get my hair braided by The Braid Bar who were using OGX products. You can find them down at Selfridges and man did they do a good job!

Overall I loved the event. I wish I could have had more done by in 4 hours there is only so much that can be done. Would have had to pay a lot more for the whole day but right now I need to save :’) all workers were so helpful and had so many great tips that I am so going to use. I would definitely recommend this place and go again next year!
